Animal bone comb, right for the Viking period, Anglo-Saxons and early medieval.
The comb follows the originals in size and shape.
Combs are one of the oldest tools mankind knows. In medieval times they have not only been used for human hair but also to prepare wool and other natural fibers for spinning and felting. Our reconstruction of this Viking comb is handmade from genuine animal bones and is carved with authentic decoration for the period (decoration varies).
The comb has a length of approx. 12 cm.
The comb slides into the case and locks in place with a small bone peg.
Our raw supplies are sourced ethically from renewable resources, often recycling a ’waste’ product from the meat industry and as a result preventing it from ending up in landfill. The majority of our finished products are biodegradable and/or recyclable, making a truly ecological product.
