Viking comb with curved back made of horn. After model from Viking Age. Varying color.
Combs are one of the oldest tools mankind knows. In medieval times they have not only been used for human hair but also to prepare wool and other natural fibres for spinning and felting. Our reconstruction of an early medieval Viking comb is handmade from genuine animal bones.
Centred it’s got a loop, at which a leather strap can be attached. The comb is strengthened at the decorated ridge by riveted straps. But nevertheless it’s necessary to handle the fragile material with care.
Viking Horn Comb
The comb has a length of approx. 120 mm.
